Pawleys Prayer Quilts

What we do

Pawleys Prayer Quilts is dedicated to creating hand-tied quilts for people in crisis in our community and elsewhere. We are Chapter 505 of Prayers and Squares International. This year we have distributed 85 quilts to individuals from Pawleys Island, SC to Ecuador, 54 military squares to active duty soldiers, and 15 prayer squares.

We began work in October 2006 with seven original members. There are now 12 active members. Though a ministry of Holy Cross Faith Memorial Episcopal Church, we have become ecumenical in our membership and in our outreach. We are happy to welcome all those who wish share in our work. You need only have willing hands and heart - sewing skills are not required.

When we meet

Join us on Tuesdays in the Holy Cross Faith Memorial parish hall from 9:00 - 12:00. Call the church office at 237-3459 if you need directions. There are many ways to assist the effort and there is no formality. Our chaplain, Melissa Timmerman, leads us in devotions weekly.

Supporters

We have been generously supported by Accent Sewing, Murrells Inlet; Quilters Cottage, Garden City; and from the "stash" of various community members. We welcome donations of 100% cotton fabric.
